With the sport of women’s rowing returning to varsity status next year, as well as major renovations to the Bellegarde Boathouse, UMass Lowell is looking to revive the sport not only at the University, but for the Merrimack Valley Region, and it has its leader in Veronika Platzer, the head coach as well as the director of the boathouse. Platzer joins us in studio to talk about the entrepreneurial element that attracted her to Lowell.

7:15-7:30 Gary Gardner, UMass Lowell Track & Field UMass Lowell

Head Coach Gary Gardner calls in from the track at The Penn Relays where several athletes are competing Thursday and Friday. The River Hawks are fresh off one their best collective showings in years at the Princeton Invitational, where school records fell and NCAA qualifiers rose.

Jonathan Albert checks in from a key doubleheader at LeLacheur Park where UMass Lowell looks to avenge an 11-4 loss to Assumption Tuesday. Albert discusses the wide-open Northeast-10 Conference and its party crashers in what has been a season of surprises.

7:45-8:00 Harry Sauter, UMass Lowell Softball

Following a doubleheader with Stonehill College, Softball Coach Harry Sauter checks in as the UMass Lowell softball team looks to end the season with needed momentum. Despite its record, there is reason for optimism at River View Field, and Harry Sauter tells us why.
