Coscia, River Hawks Turn Back Saint Michael's, 3-1

LOWELL, MA – Sophomore OH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) compiled 19 kills and hit .371 as UMass Lowell defeated Saint Michael’s College, 3-1, Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at the Costello Athletic Center. The victory was UMass Lowell’s third in its last four matches, lifting its record to 7-8 overall and 2-3 in the NE-10 entering Friday’s match at New York Institute of Technology (6:00) and Saturday’s twin bill at Dowling (4:00, vs. Adelphi at 2:00). The Purple Knights slipped to 8-7 overall and 0-4 in the Conference and hosts American International Friday at 7:00. Coscia also added four blocks and four digs while junior OH Elsa Le Grand (Highlands Ranch, CO) chipped in 12 kills, six digs and three blocks. Sophomore OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) had 10 kills and five digs. Junior S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 44 assists and added 10 digs and three kills. Sophomore MH Lindsey Frazier (Albany, NY) led the Purple Knights with nine kills and four blocks. Senior OH Audrey Rose Hagert (Berlin, CT) added eight kills and 12 digs while senior RS Justine Fletcher (Bristol, RI) also had eight kills. Senior S Amy Manougian (Rye, NH) dealt 32 assists and also chipped in 10 digs and four service aces.
