The UMass Lowell River Hawks softball team will hold walk-on tryouts on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 4:00 p.m. on River View Field, as announced by head coach Sean Cotter Wednesday.

River View Field is located on UMass Lowell’s South Campus, just past the Admissions building. For more detailed information, go to the “Directions” tab on GoRiverHawks.com.

Prospective student-athletes must be medically cleared by UMass Lowell Athletic Health Care to participate in tryouts. This includes, but is not limited to, filing reports from a physical in the last six months and proof of insurance. Stop in into the Athletic Health Care office on the second floor of Costello Gym or call (978) 934-2321 with any questions.

Additionally, all participants must provide their own glove, cleats and softball pants on the day of the tryout.

The River Hawks are coming off a 23-27 (15-15 NE-10) campaign in 2010 in Cotter’s first year at the helm of the program.
