AS A SOPHOMORE: Was a redshirt in 2009.
UNIVERSITY OF NEW HAVEN: Played at the University of New Haven in 2008 • Played in eight games • Scored two runs on the year and made no errors • Made Dean's List both semesters.
PELHAM HIGH SCHOOL: Played varsity softball at Pelham High School • All-State selection in 2007 and honorable mention in 2006 • Voted team captain as a senior • Two-time team Most Valuable Player • Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore • Also played field hockey at PHS • Four-year high honor roll student • Bausch & Lomb Science Award Winner • Member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America.
PERSONAL: One of two daughters of Marie and Donald Maruca of Pelham, NH • Lists the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins, along with Washington Redskins as her favorite professional teams • Names Jason Varitek, Vince Lombardi and Johnny Bench as her favorite athletes • Majoring in biology with aspirations to become a Veterinarian and one day own her own practice.
