UMass Lowell, currently 12-5-2 overall, is expecting to be named to the field of six teams as the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Online Selection Show airs Monday night at 7:00. The River Hawks were ranked No. 3 in the latest poll released last Wednesday (Nov. 4) behind No. 1 Saint Rose (21-0-0), the NE-10 regular season and tournament champion, and No. 2 University of Bridgeport (16-1-3), which also captured the East Coast Conference regular season and tournament crowns. The NE-10 runner-up Franklin Pierce (16-4-1) was ranked No. 4 and followed by No. 5 Merrimack (13-5-3), No. 6 Adelphi (10-5-3), No. 7 Dowling (13-5-1, the ECC runner-up) and No. 8 C.W. Post (12-6-1). The Nos. 1 and 2 seeds will host the first round and receive a bye. The No. 2 seed will host the first round match between the No. 3 and No. 6 seeds while the No. 1 seed will host the first round game between the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds. Matchups, times and locations will be announced at 7:00. |
