Kevin Bettencourt enters his fourth season as an assistant with the UMass Lowell men's and women's track and field teams and continues to assist with sprinters, hurdlers and sprint relay members.
A four-year sprinter, Bettencourt achieved personal records in the 400 meters (49.2 seconds) as a sophomore at the New England Championship; and the 200 meters (22.93) as a freshman at the Boston University Valentine's Day Invitational.
He earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors as a senior as part of the River Hawk distance medley relay team (400 meters), which placed second at the 2009 NE-10 indoor championship.
A 2004 graduate of Chelmsford H.S., Bettencourt was a three-time Merrimack Valley Conference First Team sprinter, and won the outdoor 100 and 200 meter dashes and the indoor 300 meter dash as a junior.
Bettencourt graduated with Dean's List honors in 2009 with a degree in finance. He is currently employed at LogixHealth in Bedford, Mass., and resides in his hometown of Chelmsford, Mass.
