With two more matches in the season, the UMass Lowell men's soccer team looks to end the 2009 campaign with victories over Saint Rose this afternoon as well as Wednesday at Merrimack (7:00).
Today's clash is the final regular season home appearance for UMass Lowell's eight seniors - Guillermo Cisneros, Mike Clem, Jeff Danso, Mike Galvin, Rudy Kocandrle, Ryan Richards, Corey Samuelson and Jhony Valencia - who will be honored prior to kickoff.
The River Hawks suffered a 3-1 loss at home Wednesday night against Post University, leveling 1-1 early in the second half on a goal by Mike Galvin, but surrendering a pair of goals later on. As has been the trend this season, UMass Lowell outshot the Eagles on frame 8-6 (Post had a 16-14 advantage overall).
Saint Rose and UMass Lowell both enter today's clash looking to snap nine-match winless streaks. Saint Rose has been idle since suffering a 4-1 loss at home to NE-10 frontrunner Southern New Hampshire last Saturday.
UMass Lowell leads the all-time series against the Golden Knights 11-0 and won last year's clash in Lowell, 3-2, behind a pair of goals from Stephen Potcner.
The River Hawks cap the season Wednesday at Merrimack (7:00).
