Scott Campbell, a junior from Navan, ONT, was named the UMass Lowell/Lowell Five Savings Bank Athlete of the Week Wednesday after leading the hockey team to victories over Colgate (5-3) and Northeastern (3-1) last weekend. In UMass Lowell’s home opening win over Colgate, Campbell scored the River Hawks’ first two goals in the first period and set up the game-tying goal by Nick Schaus (Buffalo, NY) in the third which ignited a three-goal flurry in a span of 2:55. Campbell was also cited to the Hockey East Weekly Honor Roll Monday. UMass Lowell broke the top 10 in two polls this week: No. 8 in the USA Today/USA Hockey poll and No. 9 in the U.S. College Hockey Online poll. A business management major, Campbell is the son of Mac and Barb Campbell of Navan, ONT. The Lowell Five Savings Bank, with 14 locations throughout the Merrimack Valley, is a proud sponsor of UMass Lowell Athletics. The UMass Lowell Athlete of the Week is selected by the four members of University’s Athletic Media Relations office. |
