Gary Mucica (’71) in his seventh year as head coach of the UMass Lowell golf team, has announced the schedule for the 2010 UMass Lowell Open Tryout, scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23 through Friday, Aug. 27 at Meadow Creek Golf Club in Dracut, Mass.

On Tuesday, Aug. 24, an optional practice round is scheduled for Meadow Creek beginning at 9:00 a.m. The Open Tryout commences Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 1:30 p.m. and continues Thursday, Aug. 26 at 9:00, and the final round Friday, Aug. 27 at 2:00.

Mucica will name the 2010-11 squad following Friday’s round.

The golf team qualified for the NCAA East-Atlantic Super Regional last May for the third straight year and returns five of its top six players from the 2009-10 season.

The team opens its season Sept. 10-11 at the Rutgers University Invitational.

Tuesday, Aug. 24
9:00: Optional practice round at Meadow Creek Golf Club in Dracut, Mass.
Wednesday, Aug. 25
1:30: First round of tryout at Meadow Creek
Thursday, Aug. 26
9:00: Second round of tryouts at Meadow Creek
Friday, Aug. 27
2:00: Final round of tryouts at Meadow Creek; 2010-11 team announced thereafter
