Tryouts for the UMass Lowell golf team have been scheduled for August 24-27 at Meadow Creek Golf Course in Dracut, MA, Head Coach Gary Mucica announced Wednesday.

All incoming freshmen, transfers and 2008-2009 golf team members who did not letter are invited to compete for twelve available roster positions. A United States Golf Association (USGA) handicap of seven or less is required.

Monday, Aug. 24 is scheduled as an optional practice round followed by a 54 hole medal play qualifier from August 25-27 at 8:30 a.m. Interested players should call Meadow Creek GC for practice round tee times at 978-459-5129.

UMass Lowell returns three of its top five players from the 2008-09 season, in which it placed second at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA East/Atlantic Super Regional.
