Head Coach Greg Herenda and members of the 2010 Northeast-10 Champion UMass Lowell River Hawks will be featured on tonight’s episode of WCTV Sports Forum. They will discuss highlights of the 2009-10 campaign and their outlook for the future of the program.
WCTV Sports Forum is hosted by Paul Cardello and Wayne Fox and airs twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8-9:00 p.m. Viewers can tune in to Comcast channels 9, 10 and 22 and Verizon Fios customers can view the show on channels 37, 38 and 39 on Wilmington and Methuen cable systems.
Fans can call in to chat with Herenda and players by dialing (978) 658-7888 once the show gets underway.
Herenda just completed his second year at the helm of the River Hawk basketball program and has compiled a 41-20 record since the start of the 2008-09 season. He was named NABC East Region and Northeast-10 Coach of the Year for his efforts during his first year at UMass Lowell.
This year’s squad played to a 20-12 record, making a post-season run that resulted in the Northeast-10 Tournament Championship. The seventh-seeded River Hawks defeated conference rivals No. 2 Bentley and No. 3 Merrimack en route to a 73-58 victory over Adelphi in the title game.
