HERENDA ON WARD:"Darrell Ward started as a freshmen at the center position and had a great first semsester of basketball. This year we look to him to be more consistent throughout the entire season. Darrell is extremely strong, runs the floor well, blocks shots and can rebound. Just like our entire sophomore class, I look forward to Darrell taking the next step in all phases of his game."
AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in 26 games with 13 starts • Averaged 4.7 PPG and 4.0 RPG • Had a season-high of 16 points and nine rebounds in a 92-82 victory over Saint Rose on Jan 22.
NOTRE DAME PREP:Played one year at Notre Dame Prep under Coach Ryan Hurd.
WHITE PLAINS HIGH SCHOOL: Played three years of varsity basketball at White Plains High School • Averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds as a senior, earning him All-Conference honors.
PERSONAL: Son of LaQuinta Harville of White Plains, N.Y. and Darrell Ward, Sr. of Yonkers, N.Y. • Has three younger sisters • Lists the Denver Nuggets and Carmelo Anthony as his favorite professional team and athlete • Undecided on a major and hopes to one day play professional basketball.
