HERENDA ON BIVINS: "Antonio had an outstanding freshman year and I expect him to raise his game to another level this year. AS A FRESHMAN: Averaged 9.1 PPG, 4.3 RPG after playing in 27 games with one start on the year • Named Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week on 2/28, averaged 22.0 points,4.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals over two games • Had a season-high of six steals and 12 rebounds in a loss against Assumption • Had a season best of 23 points in a 79-63 victory over Franklin Pierce.
AMERICAN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: Played varsity basketball for Coach Kelvin Farrington at American Senior High School • Earned All-City Honors as a sophomore and senior • Appeared in High School All-Star Game his senior year • Also played football and track & field at ASHS.
PERSONAL: Son of Calvin Bivins of Miami, Fla. • Lists the Miami Heat and University of Miami as his favorite teams and LeBron James as his favorite athlete • Says his greatest sports moment was advancing to the District Championship game as a senior • Majoring in criminal justice with plans to become a homicide detective.
