UMass Lowell baseball's open tryout at LeLacheur Park has been moved to Saturday, September 4, at 2 p.m., due to impending weather conditions.
"I am looking for tough, athletic players that are willing to make the sacrifice to wear the River Hawk uniform," said head coach Ken Harring of the tryout.
Players trying out must be current full-time students enrolled at UMass Lowell and are responsible for bringing all of their own equipment. Also, all attending must fill out the necessary paperwork that can be found here. Prospective student-athletes must have had a physical in the last six months and need to file it with the Athletic Health Care Office.
The River Hawks finished the 2010 campaign with a 27-19 overall record and 14-12 mark in conference play. Several players were honored at the season's end, highlighted by Cam Kneeland's (Rowley, Mass.) selection to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First-Team. Kneeland was also named to the ABCA Division II All-East Region First Team and Daktronics Division II All-East Region Second-Team.
Kneeland was joined on the NE-10 All-Conference squad by Third-Team selections JT Leary (Newburyport, Mass.), Dustin Ramey (Kingston, N.H.) and Luke Wallace (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) and All-Rookie member Garrett Cole (Manchester, N.H.).
