UMass Lowell baseball pitcher Ted Haley (Cranston, RI) was named one of the East Region's Pre-Season All-Americans in this month's edition of Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. The right-handed junior was joined in the publication by Jack Leathersich (Beverly, MA), named one of their "Players to Watch", and James Katsiroubas (Milton, MA), listed under "Newcomers to Watch". Haley looks to follow up a stellar sophomore campaign in which he was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team and the ABCA All-East Region First Team. He compiled a 6-0 record with a 1.76 earned run average and a .179 batting average against. During his final three starts, Haley strung together 20 consecutive scoreless innings. Collegiate Baseball Newspaper dates back to 1958, chronicling all levels of amateur baseball. Haley and the River Hawks eagerly anticipate spring as opening day is only weeks away. Don't miss a pitch as UMass Lowell travels to Petersburg, VA, for a double-header with Dominican (NY) on Feb. 27th. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m. |
