UMass Lowell’s 3rd Annual Dream of Perfect Games Celebration of Sport will be held Saturday, Nov. 23 (12:30) at UMass Lowell’s Inn & Conference Center. The unique event will honor athletic excellence as well as individuals or groups that have used the power and appeal of sports to improve lives and strengthen Merrimack Valley communities.
The Celebration of Sport program features the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame induction and the presentation of the James T. Smith Award (“The Smitty”) to an individual connected to the University’s athletic community for lifetime achievement. Other awards include the Family Lew Community Impact Award, the Charles Puliafico and Jane Pankovich Austin Scholarships given to the athletic department’s top junior student-athletes, and Champion of Sports Awards.
“We’re excited to bring together the sports heroes of the University and the surrounding communities for what is a premier annual celebration of the impact of sports at the University and across the Merrimack Valley,” said Athletic Director Dana Skinner.
For the first time, friends of UMass Lowell are able to make a gift in the name of any member of the 2013 Athletic Hall of Fame class by clicking here.
The reception begins at 12:30 p.m. followed by the awards presentation at 1:00 p.m. Admission is $75 per person which includes dinner and a ticket to UMass Lowell's Hockey East clash against Notre Dame at 4:00 at the Tsongas Center.

Additionally, Team Impact will receive the Family Lew Community Impact Award while faculty athletic representative Bob Gamache will receive the Gary Mucica Award; Robert Sheridan, of the UMass Board of Trustees, the UMass Lowell Athletic Legacy Award; and John Kennedy the James T. Smith Award for Lifetime Achievement.
