The University of Massachusetts Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes individual student-athletes and coaches who have distinguished themselves in the field of athletics by virtue of their performance on athletic teams representing the University, or by meritorious efforts on behalf of athletics. National Championship teams are also eligible for consideration.
Eligibility
- For former student-athletes, eligibility shall not begin until five (5) years after the class with which the student entered is graduated from the University. Non-graduated student-athletes may be considered on an individual basis.
- Persons, other than former student-athletes, may also be considered as Hall of Fame members.
- For teams to be considered, eligibility shall not begin until five (5) years after the NCAA title has been won or shared.
- Coaches shall be considered as Hall of Fame members only after they have retired or left the service of UMass Lowell.
Qualifications
- For former coaches and student-athletes, eligibility shall be based on demonstrated achievements, integrity, sportsmanship, character, and his/her contributions to the team or teams on which the person played or coached, as well as to the University in general.
- For non-student-athletes/coaches to be considered, he/she must have demonstrated special contributions to the University and its athletic program(s).
