LOWELL, Mass. -- UMass Lowell Athletics and the Lowell Humane Society (LHS) are teaming up for the fourth annual Pucks and Paws Night at the Tsongas Center on Wednesday, December 3. Face-off is set for 7:00 p.m. against the Connecticut Huskies. Fans are encouraged to bring their own dogs to enjoy the game with them, and the Lowell Humane Society will have adoptable pets on site.
"We look forward to this event every year – it's one of the staff favorites," said
Scott Donnelly, Assistant AD for Marketing and Promotions. "And based on fan feedback, we're not the only ones who enjoy it."
There will be a designated section for fans that bring their non-aggressive dogs as well as a special "Doggie Door" entrance via the West Box Office. Fans can purchase seats in Section 110 for $15, and tickets for their dogs are just $5. All of the proceeds from "dog ticket" sales will be donated to the Lowell Humane Society.Â
Fans are required to purchase their "dog tickets" in advance of the game by calling Christine Maurais at 978-934-2181.UMass Lowell asks that all fans have current tags and vaccinations for all dogs entering the building and all dogs must be on a non-retractable leash. Proof of up-to-date vaccinations must be provided upon purchase.River Hawk season ticket holders can exchange their usual seats for tickets in Section 110 at no charge with the purchase of a $5 dog ticket. Hydration stations and "waste management" will be provided by LHS on the concourse as needed.

The Lowell Humane Society is a non-profit organization providing care for homeless pets since 1873. Over the years they have grown to provide shelter for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, domestic birds of all sizes and various other small animals. The small shelter finds homes for over 1,200 animals each year and continues to provide a valuable service by helping families find resources to keep their pets, providing humane education opportunities and partnering with organizations across New England to end pet over-population through spay/neuter programs.
