Senior Eric McDonald (Groveland, Mass.) and junior Candace Greene (Annapolis, Md.) were each named athletes of the week as the Northeast-10 Conference announced its weekly track and field honors Monday.

McDonald was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week while Greene was selected as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week following a pair of standout performances at the Tufts University Jumbo Invitational.

McDonald captured the mile in 4:16.09 – currently the fastest time in the country – and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship.

The result converts to a banked-track time of 4:12.86 seconds. The NCAA Championship, held at the CrossPlex Complex in Birmingham, Ala., Mar. 7-9, will be run on a banked track.

Greene took second in the shot put at Tufts with a season-best throw of 47 feet, 7.75 inches which pits her fourth on the Division II list. Greene led all collegiate throwers in the event, placing second to former UMass Lowell standout and 2010 NCAA Champion Jacqui Barrett (47' 10.0'').

Four River Hawks were cited to the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll, including juniors Antoinette Toussaint (Somerville, Mass.) and Diamond Jones (Lowell, Mass.), who each won two events at Tufts. Toussaint captured the long jump and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship with a distance of 18' 1.0'', currently 22nd on the Division II list.

She also won the 600 meters (1:38.65) and placed third in the 60 meter hurdles in 9.26 seconds.
Jones won the 60 meter dash in 7.83 seconds and moved on to capture the triple jump with a distance of 35' 10.5'', her fourth title in as many meets this season.

On the men's side, junior Kevin Peter (North Attleboro, Mass.) was cited as he placed second in the weight throw with an effort of 57' 2.0'', an NCAA provisional mark pitting him 13th in the country.

Junior Cameron Mitchell (Wakefield, Mass.) won the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds.
