A blood drive will be held in honor of Nick DeFelice, who passed away in June due to a long battle with Neuroblastoma, on Sept. 29 at St. Francis Church in Dracut. The brave nine year old was an honorary member of the UMass Lowell hockey team for the 2011-12 season.
The blood drive will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Francis Church (115 Wheeler Rd, Dracut, MA) on Saturday, Sept. 29. If you would like to set up an appointment, please contact Denise at (978) 258-2773 or Joanne at (978) 683-8993.
The River Hawks first connected with DeFelice through
Team IMPACT, where teams are matched with children with life-threatening illnesses. Nick was diagnosed at age 3 with Neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor that develops in the nerve tissue.
DeFelice was honored by UMass Lowell hockey at its year-end banquet with the Marc Connelly Award, given to the person who made a significant positive impact on the program, as voted by the players.
