UML was 1-for-5 on the power play, while BU was 1-for-4 on the man-advantage.
“Besides the result, I thought we competed really hard,” said UML head coach Blaise MacDonald. “Right to the very end guys competed. We were overmatched at times and we had guys play very tentatively in the defensive zone, but I thought for the most part we really grew as a team tonight. We showed some great poise. Maury Edwards scores two goals; our defense is generating some offense. Now we need some of our forwards on the board offensively.”
Barry Goers (Ivyland, Pa.) earned an assist on DeLuca’s goal and has points in four of the first five games this season. Auger also has points in four of the first five with an assist Saturday.
The River Hawks return to the ice Friday night at New Hampshire (7:00 p.m. face off). BU next plays Friday night when it hosts Massachusetts Friday night (7:30 p.m.).
