LOWELL, Mass. (Dec. 2, 2008) – Sophomore center Scott Campbell (Navan, Ont.) was named the Reebok Player of the Week, the Hockey East Association announced Monday. Mike Potacco (Kinnelon, N.J.) and David Vallorani (Hamilton, Ont.) were named Hockey East Top Performers for the Week.

Campbell had a career night on Saturday setting personal bests with five points and three goals. His two assists tied a career-high.

The hat trick was the first of Campbell’s career and marked the first time a River Hawk had five points in a game since November 26, 1999 when both Chris Bell and Jeff Boulanger each had five points in a 13-1 win over Connecticut.

Campbell continued his solid work in the face off circle, winning 15 of 20 on Saturday and 30 of 44 for the week. He leads the River Hawks in face off percentage (66.4) and face off wins (144).

Campbell has 12 points on seven goals and five assists for the season. He ranks second in goals and third in points. He had 10 points (5 goals, 5 assists) in eight November games.

Potacco collected a career-best four assists in the 6-3 win over RIT. He assisted on the first three River Hawk goals in the win over the Tigers. Potacco has four goals and six assists for 10 points in 13 games this season.

Vallorani extended his scoring streak to five games with three points (1 goal, 2 assists) on the week. He assisted on the first goal of the game in a 3-1 win at Merrimack (11/25). Both points Saturday came on the power play.

The freshman center is tied for the team-lead with 13 points. He leads the squad 10 assists.

The River Hawks have won two straight and five of six. They are 8-5-0 overall on the season, 5-3-0 in league play. UMass Lowell hosts New Hampshire Friday night at the Tsongas Arena (7:00 p.m.). The two squads also play Saturday night at the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H.
