
The University has formed an Exploratory Group to begin the process of identifying candidates to fill its men’s basketball head coach's position. The Group consists of broad representation across the campus and includes two basketball alumni. The Group is being chaired by Athletic Director, Dana Skinner, and Bobby Licare (left), a member of the Hall of Fame and the point guard on the 1988 National Championship team.
In addition to Skinner and Licare, other members of the Exploratory Group include Joan Lehoullier, the senior associate athletic director, Eric Allen, assistant director for external affairs, Colleen Sorem, asst. athletic director for business affairs, and Gary Mucica, the head men’s golf coach. Group members outside athletics include Brenda Evans from student activities, Steve Rogers, the athletic development officer, Kerri Mead (right), the director of admissions, and Matt McCafferty, a basketball alumnus from the class of 1979.
The position will be posted immediately and three members of the Exploratory Group will visit with selected individuals to determine which candidates will be brought on campus for interviews.
