On Monday, September 24, 2007, the 17th Annual David J. Boutin Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, NH. The proceeds of this tournament assist the DJB Scholarship Committee to award scholarships to student athletes at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
The David J. Boutin Memorial Scholarship Fund began in September 1990 in memory of David J. Boutin, a former University of Massachusetts at Lowell baseball player, who died of cancer while at the University. The Fund was established to aid a student athlete at the University who possessed the principles that David lived by: honesty, integrity, hard work, and a love for people and sports. The Fund sponsors students for their four years at the University through a half-year scholarship. In addition, numerous other monetary gifts are given to local elementary schools for scholarships, sports equipment, and uniforms. Since the inception of the Fund, we have seen the benefits of its work through the graduation of the fund’s recipients.
