LOWELL, Mass. (April 22, 2008) – Kyle Davis (Rochester, N.H.) was named the Northeast-10 Co-Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Davis went 2-0 in two starts, and struck out 21 as UMass Lowell went 6-1 on the week. Davis allowed just six hits and struck out 10 in a 3-0 victory at Saint Rose (4/15).
The freshman right hander fanned a career-high 11 in a five-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over American International Sunday afternoon.
Davis shared the Pitcher of the Week award with Dan Lozeau of Bryant University. Like Davis, Lozeau was 2-0 on the week with two complete game shutouts.
Davis is the second Pitcher of the Week winner from UMass Lowell. Dan White (Southboro, Mass.) received the honor on April 7.
The River Hawks play at Bryant Tuesday night before returning home to host the Bulldogs on Thursday.
