Scott Donnelly, a native of Ramsey, NJ, was named coordinator of external affairs at UMass Lowell on July 9, 2007.

Donnelly came to UML after spending the 2006-07 season as the marketing and public relations intern at Hockey East and a similar position at parsonsKellogg in East Providence, RI, prior.

A 2006 graduate of Providence College, Donnelly assisted Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertanga with Tournament promotions and community service efforts, including Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer, which raised more than $18,000. Additionally, he wrote and designed the monthly newsletter for the Hannaford Hockey East Kids Club and also implemented and promoted Club events.

Donnelly also assisted in the Hockey East Public relations office where he wrote press releases for the Women's Hockey East Association and contributed pieces to both the men's and women's tournament programs, as well as USA Hockey Magazine.

Donnelly brought a wealth of fundraising experience to UML. Along with his work with Skating Strides Against Breast Cancer, he also served as the race director for the Trick or Trot Run/Walk in October of 2005, which generated more than $2,800 for the Ronald McDonald House of Providence.

As a student at PC and a member of the men's club golf team, he helped raise $2,500 through various fundraising efforts. He completed his marketing degree from PC in 2006, and maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.77 to graduate magna cum laude.

Donnelly was the recipient of several academic honors, including the PC Presidential Tuition Scholarship and the Sovereign Bank Award for Marketing. He also gained entry into the Liberal Arts Honors Program, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Tau Pi Phi Business Honor Society.

Donnelly lives in Lowell, MA.
