LOWELL, MA (Sept. 29, 2007) – Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) compiled 29 kills to lead UMass Lowell in a 3-0 win over Southern Connecticut and a 3-1 loss to Dowling Saturday afternoon in a volleyball tripleheader at the Costello Athletic Center.

The River Hawks defeated Southern Connecticut 30-22, 31-29, 30-21 and won the first game against Dowling, 30-28, before dropping the next three 19-30, 12-30, 13-30. Dowling also defeated Southern Connecticut 30-23, 30-22, 30-18.

UML 3, Southern Connecticut 0 (30-22, 31-29, 30-21)

Freshman Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) compiled a season-high 22 kills and six blocks while hitting .326 to lead UML over Southern Connecticut in the first match of the day. Sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CA) added 10 kills, 12 digs and six service aces while hitting .429 while freshman OH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) chipped in seven kills.

Sophomore L Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense with 17 digs while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 33 assists and collected nine digs and three aces.

Junior OH Heather Coombs (Trumbull, CT) led the Owls with 13 kills, seven digs and three blocks while hitting .333.

Dowling 3, Southern Connecticut 0 (30-23, 30-22, 30-18)

Sophomore OH Kyla Muela (El Paso, TX) registered 10 kills while freshman MB Easton Primeau (New Albany, OH) added nine kills and five blocks while hitting .533 to lead Dowling over Southern Connecticut.

Junior L Jessica Gall (Meadow Vista, CA) led the Golden Lion defense with 11 digs while junior S Rachel Zulick (Albuquerque, NM) dealt 22 assists and freshman S Erin Przbylowicz (Ridley Park, PA) 13.

Sophomore MB Marcia Hollingsworth (Alexandria, VA) led Southern Connecticut with eight kills, six blocks and five digs while junior MB Nekane Mendizabal (Stratford, CT) added six kills and a team-high 13 digs.

Dowling 3, UMass Lowell 1 (28-30, 30-19, 30-12, 30-13)

Senior OH Justyna Michon (Katowice, Poland) compiled 21 kills and hit .559 while junior RS Kali Kuhl (Temperance, MI) added 15 kills and hit .560 to lead Dowling over UMass Lowell.

Sophomore RS Patrycja Kletkotka (Siedice, Poland) chipped in 11 kills, seven blocks, seven aces and six digs for the Golden Lions while Primeau had seven kills and four blocks. Przbylowicz dished out 56 assists and served four aces.

Freshman MH Kaitlynne Akroyd (Methuen, MA) led UML with eight kills and four blocks while LeGrand, Hadder and Coscia each added seven kills.
