LOWELL, MA (Sept. 1, 2007) – Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) compiled 28 kills and 19 digs while hitting .371 as UMass Lowell defeated Post University 3-0 but fell to Concordia, 3-2, Saturday in a volleyball tri-match at the Costello Athletic Center.

Concordia went 2-0 on the day, also defeating Post, 3-0 (32-30, 32-30, 30-18), to improve to 2-1 this season. Post slipped to 0-3.

UMass Lowell 3, Post 0 (30-20,30-18, 30-24)

Hadder, freshman MH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) and senior MH Erin Hudd (Melrose, MA) each had eight kills while sophomore OH Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense with 16 digs and two blocks as the River Hawks prevailed 3-0.

Sophomore S Jessica Provan (Bradford, MA) dished out 19 assists in addition to eight digs, five kills and three service aces while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) had 21 assists and 11 digs.

Junior OH Kerri Smith (Lynbrook, NY) led the Eagles with six kills and 18 digs while senior OH Vicky Ducharme (Nashua, NH) added seven kills, four aces and three digs.

Concordia 3, Post 0 (32-30, 32-30, 30-18)

Sophomore Nicole Gizzi (Waterbury, CT) added eight kills and 11 digs for Post University while Smith chipped in six kills and a pair of blocks.

Concordia 3, UMass Lowell 2 (30-24, 23-30, 20-30, 30-20, 15-13)

Hadder led UML with 20 kills, 10 digs and eight service points as the River Hawks emerged from a 13-8 deficit in the tiebreaker but fell short against the Clippers.

Senior OH Kristina Martell (Chelmsford, MA) compiled 12 kills, three blocks and a team-high 18 digs while Coscia added 11 kills, seven digs and three blocks, and Hudd nine kills.

Provan and Rondeau combined for 60 assists – Provan with 34 and Rondeau 26 – while Eide and Ciccone had 14 and 12 digs, respectively.
