EAST STROUDSBURG, PA (Oct. 13, 2007) – Sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) compiled 25 kills and senior OH Kristina Martell (Chelmsford, MA) added 20 kills and earned All-Tournament Team honors as UMass Lowell suffered losses to Augusta State (3-1) and Kutztown (3-1) Saturday at the East Stroudsburg Tournament.

With the loss, UML slipped to 9-16 this season and hosts Saint Anselm Tuesday night at 7:00.

Augusta State improved to 10-12 while Kutztown bettered its record to 22-5.

Martell compiled averages of 3.0 kills and 2.9 digs and served 10 aces to book her spot on the All-Tournament Team.

In the loss to Augusta (30-27, 27-30, 20-30, 27-30), freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) compiled 19 kills, 18 digs and five aces to lead the River Hawks. LeGrand added 14 kills, 16 digs, five blocks and three aces while sophomore OH Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) added 10 kills and a team-high 19 digs.

Martell chipped in seven kills, 14 digs and three aces while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 35 assists and collected 11 digs.

In the loss to Kutztown, Martell led the offense with 13 kills along with 13 digs as UML fell 25-30, 30-27, 16-30 and 22-30. LeGrand chipped in 11 kills while junior L Kendra Ciccone (Quincy, MA) had six aces and 13 service points.

Eide led the defense with 18 digs.

Senior MH Erin Waters led Kutztown with 13 kills and eight blocks while sophomore RS Katie Miller had a team-high 15 kills and freshman LS Lindsay Confer 11.
