Hadder Leads River Hawks With 19 Kills
EASTON, MA (Oct. 23, 2007) – Junior OH Katherine Masson registered 19 kills as Stonehill College turned back UMass Lowell, 3-2, Tuesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at Merkert Gymnasium.
The River Hawks won the first two games, 30-27 and 30-28, but surrendered the next three 28-30, 24-30 and 12-15.
With the loss, the River Hawks slipped to 11-17 overall and 6-5 in the NE-10 while Stonehill improved to 8-18 overall and 4-7 in the Conference.
UML returns home Friday night to host Merrimack (7:00) and Saturday to host both the universities of Bridgeport (1:00) and New Haven (3:00).
Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) led the River Hawks with 19 kills and three service aces while sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) added 15 kills. Sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) compiled 54 assists and five aces while sophomore L Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense with 27 digs and five aces.
Freshman OH Erin Johnson chipped in 11 kills and three blocks for the Skyhawks while freshman MB Laura Noonan added nine kills and six blocks. Freshman S Andrea Wirth dished out 50 assists.
