Coscia, LeGrand, Hadder Combine for 34 Kills
LOWELL, MA (Oct. 5, 2007) – Freshman OH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) compiled 13 kills and four blocks as UMass Lowell defeated the College of Saint Rose, 3-1, Friday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at the Costello Athletic Center.
With the win, UML improved to 7-13 overall and 4-4 in the NE-10 entering Saturday’s Homecoming clash against Le Moyne (1:00). Saint Rose slipped to 10-6 overall and 3-2 in the Conference.
Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) added 11 kills and 15 digs while sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) totaled 10 kills and five blocks.
Sophomore L Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) also had 15 digs while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 37 assists along with 12 digs.
Freshman MH Kaitlynne Akroyd (Methuen, MA) chipped in a season-high nine blocks and seven kills.
Senior OH Stephanie Brink (Port Ewen, NY) led the Golden Knights with 11 kills and eight blocks while freshman MH Kelly Ryan (Circleville, PA) added five kills and eight blocks. Sophomore L Mary German (Canandaigua, NY) led the Saint Rose defense with 25 digs while junior DS Danielle Gaudio (Rotterdam, NY) added 14.
Junior S Jessica Weaver (Dolgeville, NY) dealt 24 assists.
