Freshman Wong Leads UML With 17 Kills
MANCHESTER, NH (Oct. 30, 2007) – Freshman OH Vicki Wong (Tewksbury, MA) registered a season-high 17 kills and nine digs to lead UMass Lowell over Saint Anselm, 3-0 (30-18, 30-17, 30-28) Tuesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at Stoutenborough Gymnasium.
With the win, UML improved to 12-20 overall and 7-6 in the NE-10 entering Friday’s regular season finale at home against Pace (7:00). Saint Anselm slipped to 3-22 overall and 2-12 in the Conference.
Sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) compiled 14 kills and three blocks while sophomore L Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense with 12 digs, three aces and 11 service points.
Sophomore setters Nicole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) and Jessica Provan (San Clemente, CA) combined for 44 assists.
Alana McNeil led Saint Anselm with 12 kills while Heather Sherlock had 15 digs and Kelly O’Dea 17 assists.
