Hadder Leads River Hawks With 16 Kills
LOWELL, MA (Sept. 5, 2007) – Freshman MH Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, NY) registered eight kills, 11 blocks and four service aces as Southern New Hampshire defeated UMass Lowell, 3-2, Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball match at the Costello Athletic Center.
With the loss, UML slipped to 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the NE-10 and embarks on a 12-match road swing beginning Friday at Queens College. The Penmen improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the Conference.
The loss marked the first time since 1986 UML suffered a loss to the Penmen, halting a 27-match winning streak.
Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) led UML with 16 kills, 21 digs and six aces while senior MH Erin Hudd (Melrose, MA) added nine kills. Junior L Kendra Ciccone (Quincy, MA) added a team-high 21 digs and six kills while sophomore OH Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) chipped in 10 digs and five kills.
Sophomore S Jessica Provan (Bradford, MA) dished out 32 assists while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) added 16.
Junior OH Brianna Doucet (Danville, NH) posted team-highs of 10 kills and 21 digs for SNHU while sophomore MH Kim Rowe (Exeter, NH) added nine kills and three blocks. Senior S Kelly Scanlon (East Providence, RI) dished out 22 assists and also compiled 16 digs.
