LeGrand Leads UML With 14 Kills
FLUSHING, NY (Sept. 7, 2007) – Senior MB Enobong Shammah (El Paso, TX) posted 17 kills and hit .371 to lead Queens College over UMass Lowell, 3-2, Friday night in a non-conference volleyball match in Flushing, NY.
Game scores favored the Knights 30-20, 29-31, 30-23, 22-30, 15-11.
The loss was the third straight for the River Hawks, who slipped to 1-3 overall entering tomorrow’s matches against the University of Bridgeport (1:00) and Merrimack (3:00) in Bridgeport, CT.
Sophomore MH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CA) led UML with 14 kills and six digs while freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) added 10 kills and 14 digs. Freshman OH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) chipped in 10 kills and four digs.
Sophomore DS Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) had a team-high 16 digs while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dealt 19 assists and sophomore Jessica Provan (San Clemente, CA) 15 assists.
Freshman OH Shannon Kelly (Bayshore, NY) added 12 kills and 18 digs for the Knights while junior OH Milica Mrdak (Bar, Serbia-Montenegro) added 12 kills and 13 digs. Junior S Marianna Megas (Bayshore, NY) dished out 44 assists.
