Freshman Akroyd Leads UML With Nine Kills
RINDGE, NH (Oct. 2, 2007) – Junior MH Nicole Buchholz registered nine kills and three blocks to lead Franklin Pierce University over UMass Lowell, 3-0 (30-22, 30-23, 30-15) Tuesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at the FPU Fieldhouse.
With the loss, UML slipped to 6-13 overall and 3-3 in the NE-10 entering Friday night’s home match against Saint Rose (7:00) and Saturday’s home tilt with Le Moyne (1:00).
Franklin Pierce improved to 11-10 overall and 5-2 in the Conference.
Freshman Kaitlynne Akroyd (Methuen, MA) led the River Hawks with nine kills and two blocks while freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) added six kills and three service aces. Sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) dished out 26 assists
Sophomore Katie Ristow added eight kills and a team-high 10 digs for the Ravens while junior S Karissa Hookstadt dished out 24 assists.
