Hadder Leads River Hawks With 18 Kills
LOWELL, MA (Sept. 13, 2007) – Sophomore OH Caitlin Parnell had 14 kills and 21 digs to lead Franklin Pierce University over UMass Lowell, 3-1, Thursday night in a non-conference volleyball clash at the FPU Fieldhouse.
Game scores were 30-20, 26-30, 30-24 and 30-16.
With the loss, UML slipped to 3-5 overall entering the Le Moyne College Tournament Saturday and Sunday. The River Hawks meet the hosts Saturday at 9:00 and face New Haven at 1:30.
Franklin Pierce improved to 5-7 overall. The two rivals meet in a conference tilt Tuesday, Oct. 2 in Rindge, NH.
Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) led UML with 18 kills and 13 digs while sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CA) added 12 kills and three service aces. Sophomore DS Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense once again with 22 digs while sophomore S Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) had a career-high 35 assists along with 10 digs.
Sophomore OH Katie Ristow added 10 kills, seven blocks and three aces for the Ravens while junior S Karissa Hookstadt compiled 41 assists and 18 digs.
