Freshman Coscia Leads Four River Hawks in Double Digits
SPRINGFIELD, MA (Sept. 11, 2007) – Freshman MH Sarah Coscia (Pittsfield, MA) registered 13 kills and led three teammates in double digits as UMass Lowell defeated American International College, 3-0, Tuesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball tilt at Butova Gymnasium.
With the victory, UML improved to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the Conference entering Thursday night’s match at Franklin Pierce (7:00). AIC slipped to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the NE-10.
Game scores were 30-21, 30-27 and 32-30.
Sophomore OH Elsa LeGrand (Highlands Ranch, CO) added 12 kills and 12 digs while senior MH Erin Hudd (Melrose, MA) added 10 kills and six blocks. Freshman OH Jillian Hadder (Yucaipa, CA) also chipped in 10 kills along with 11 service points and three aces.
Sophomore DS Allie Eide (Gresham, OR) led the defense with 21 digs while sophomore setters Nichole Rondeau (Dracut, MA) and Jessica Provan (San Clemente, CA) dished out 24 and 16 assists, respectively.
