RIVERDALE, NY (Sept. 22, 2007) – Junior Christina DaLomba (Marstons Mills, MA) placed 58th overall to lead UMass Lowell at the Iona College Meet of Champions Saturday afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park.

DaLomba covered the 5K course in 23:49.3 and was the first of four UML runners in the field of 206.

Senior Amanda Sousa (Peabody, MA) placed 113th in 25:10.5 while sophomore Jenna Banks (North Attleboro, MA) took 129th in 25:47.3. Junior Sarah Merullo (Wakefield, MA) capped the UML contingent in 136th with a time of 25:58.6.

Penn State won the team title with 48 points while Cornell (56) and Brown (62) were close behind.

UML returns to action Saturday at the Keene State Invitational in Keene, NH.
