Sophomore Haley Catarius led four members of the UMass Lowell women’s track and field team named to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Teams.
Seniors Joey DeWitt and Amanda Sousa were honored for the third consecutive year and led 6 UML athletes named to the NE-10 Track & Field All-Academic Teams, announced Wednesday.
Sophomore Haley Catarius (Marshfield, MA) received the ninth seed in the 800 meters and led five teammates who earned places in the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championship in Walnut, CA.
Typically, collegiate athletes build on the skills they learned in high school. Lyra Clark is the exception to this rule.
Senior Terry Young (Mansfield, MA) and sophomore Jacqui Barrett (Woburn, MA) were named the track and field athletes of the week while Jenna Lapachinski (Turners Falls, MA) was named the freshman athlete of the week, the Northeast-10 Conference announced Monday.
Johan Rafael (Lawrence, MA) and Lauren Raimondi (East Longmeadow, MA) were named freshman athletes of the week while sophomore Jacqui Barrett (Woburn, MA) was named the field athlete of the week as the Northeast-10 Conference announced it weekly award winners Monday.

When his third daughter was born, Joe Brice visualized a track and field athlete at the collegiate level, focusing her attention on throwing.  Eighteen years later, Patricia Brice is following through, with a twist.
The NCAA has announced it will videostream portions of Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday and Saturday from Minnesota State University-Mankato.
Sophomore Olivia Thibou (Boston, MA) was named the Northeast Region Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Year Thursday by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
