Carmon Leads UML With 11 Points, Six Rebounds
WALTHAM, MA (Nov. 25, 2007) – Freshman G Kim Brennan (Locust Valley, NY) scored 18 points as Bentley College defeated UMass Lowell, 60-44, Sunday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference women’s basketball clash at the Dana Center.
With the loss, UML slipped to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the NE-10 entering Wednesday’s home game against Stonehill (5:30). The Falcons improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the Conference.
Junior C Revital Carmon (Bat-Yam, Israel) led the River Hawks with 11 points and six rebounds while shooting 5 for 9 from the floor.
Brennan converted 8 of 12 field goals and dished out four assists while senior C Vanessa Lux (Arundel, ME) added 17 points, hitting 7 of 10 from the floor.
The Falcons forced 23 turnovers while committing only 15, which enabled for a 23-8 advantage in points off turnovers.
Bentley also shot .519 in the first half (14 for 27), opposed to .208 by UML (5 for 24). The Falcons also committed only eight fouls opposed to 19 by UML.
UML trailed at the break, 32-17, and was unable to pull within 14 points the remainder of the second half.
In the opening half, Bentley jumped out to a 15-3 lead, but UML closed the lead to 19-14, highlighted by consecutive 3-point shots by freshman G Krissy Little (Concord, NH) and sophomore G Megan Berry (Ipswich, MA) with 8:04 left in the half. The Falcons, however, ended the half with a, 13-3 run, fueled by seven points from Lux.
