What is the River Hawk Club?

The River Hawk Club is UMass Lowell's primary organization for providing direct support to all women's and men's River Hawk athletic programs.  By joining the River Hawk Club, you send a message of support to all student-athletes, coaches and staff members.  Membership helps build loyalty and excitement for River Hawk athletic events - and members enjoy exclusive and valuable benefits and services.

Who can join?

Annual membership which runs from July 1 through June 30, is open to all for a minimum donation of $50.  The Club provides alumni, friends, parents, businesses and organizations with an excellent opportunity to support UMass Lowell athletics.  We encourage families to join and participate in the Club's activities.

Why join?

To provide the University's student-athletes with the resources that will enable them to compete at the highest possible level in NCAA Division I and II programs, both regionally and nationally.

Member donations make possible the scholarships needed to recruit and retain the top student-athletes in all sports.  Primarily used for scholarships, members' donations also support the various athletic programs by helping the University provide equipment and other essentials and maintain and improve facilities.

Benefits of Membership
River Hawk Club Application

As a River Hawk Club member, you are eligible to participate in a number of exclusive social events scheduled throughout the year.  The benefits and services you enjoy are commensurate with the level of your membership.  For example, All Star members ($250 donation) will have unlimited between-period access to the Tsongas Arena Talon Club Room.  Hall of Fame members ($1,000 donation) get a year's enrollment in the Fitness Center at the new Campus Center and will have reserved parking for home River Hawk hockey games at the Tsongas Arena.  (See benefits chart below.)

The River Hawk Club (formerly the Lowell Club for Athletic Excellence) now offers more opportunities for members to meet and interact with coaches, team members and one another.  Social events bring members together for supporting UML athletes, networking and entertainment.

About the Student-Athletes

Nearly 400 UMass Lowell student-athletes compete in 17 programs.  And, in addition to their dedication to academics, their teams and their university, they carry on a strong tradition of service - offering their time and effort to programs that benefit residents of the greater Lowell community.  Each year, our athletes donate over 10,000 hours of community service in programs like the Special Olympics, House of Hope and the Greater Merrimack Valley Food Bank.

About the Teams

UMass Lowell competes against 14 other colleges and universities within the Northeast 10 Conference , one of the premiere all-around NCAA Division II conferences in the country.  And the ice hockey team competes in the elite Hockey East Conference in Division I.  Over the years, three different UMass Lowell programs have captured five NCAA championships, and seven individuals have won NCAA national championships.  Additionally, nearly 200 University athletes have achieved All-America status.

About the Facilities

Cushing Field ComplexUMass Lowell athletes play in some of the best collegiate facilities in New England.  The hockey team's home rink is the 6,500-seat Tsongas Arena and the baseball team plays in the 5,000-seat LeLacheur Park.  The newly revamped Cushing Athletic Complex behind Costello Gym is home to River Hawk field hockey, football, tennis, track and field, and soccer teams. On the South Campus, the softball team plays on Riverview Field, and the Bellegarde Boathouse is home to crew.
