David Medwar '93
(Football)
(1999) - David Medwar was named an
All-American in both 1991 (Second Team) and 1992. He was
named Freedom Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year
and an FCC First Team All-Star in 1992. In 1991, his
junior season, Dave was named All-New England Football
Conference First Team, All-ECAC Division III Second Team, ECAC
Honor Roll in two different weeks, NECC Player of the Week once,
and NEFC Honor Roll three times. In 1991, he helped lead
UMass Lowell to a 10-1 record, posting 72 tackles, a team-high
14 for losses of 27 yards, and a team-high 12 pass break-ups.
He also led the team with 10 sacks for 98 yards. That
season, he was named Second team All-American by Champion USA,
and AP All-New England Honorable Mention in 1991. In 1992,
Dave was named to the All-New England College Division All-Star
team, with 74 tackles. He had 17 tackles for losses, 8
sacks and 5 blocked kicks. Also in 1992, Dave was named
the Most Valuable Defensive Lineman by the Football Gazette,
as well as a First Team Defensive End on the Football Gazette
All-American team.
