(1996) - Volleyball standout Susan MacDonald helped lead UMass Lowell to its first-ever ECAC post-season tournament as a junior in 1987 with a 30-11 mark. A four year letterwinner, MacDonald served as team captain as a senior and co-captain during her junior campaign, and was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Northeast Regional squad as a sophomore. Susan is the all-time leader in kills with 1,377 and she ranks second in career digs (801) and third in blocks (284). She also ranks in the top five in several single season categories, including kills, blocks, digs and hitting percentage. MacDonald earned a spot on the New England Collegiate Conference all-tournament team during all four years of her career and received the Lester Cushing Award for outstanding female athlete in 1987.Inside Athletics
