of the best basketball players to wear the red, white and blue,
Knower graduated in 1998 as one of the most decorated players in
UMass Lowell history. Knower guided the women’s basketball
program to a four-year record of 87-31 (.737) and to three NCAA
Tournament berths. Along the way, the River Hawks won three New
England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament championships
and two regular season titles.At 6-feet tall, Knower thrived on her versatility and played all five positions. She earned All-NECC honors her final three years and was named the NECC and Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Year as a senior. Last year, she was voted among the University’s top 10 female athletes in school history as well as the top 10 women’s basketball players.
Knower also left her mark in the record
book, ranking among the top 10 career leaders in an astounding
nine categories, including points (1,565), rebounds (628) and
field goal accuracy (.463).
A native of Templeton, MA and former standout at Narragansett
High School, Knower is an account manager at Fitcorp in Boston
and resides in Medford, MA.
