G. Harvey Chandler (Contributions)
(1983) - A driving force behind the growth and successes of the University of Lowell varsity athletic programs, the late Harvey Chandler was another of those invaluable members of the academic community who did not make his presence felt on the playing fields, but behind the scenes.

The contribution that Chandler made to the athletic program at the University of Lowell is immeasurable.  As a member of the committee on Athletics of the Board of Trustees and a member of the University's Building Authority, Harvey was a driving force in providing the resources needed for a quality athletic program to emerge.

His involvement in all ULowell athletic programs and his concern for the individual athletes demonstrated not only his deep interest in athletics, but a genuine compassion for his fellow man.  His influence on the athletic endeavors at ULowell will be sustained for many years to come, particularly through the G. Harvey Chandler Memorial Trophy which is presented annually to the hockey team's top scorer.
