William L. Burns
'69 (Basketball)
(1977) - William L. (Bill) Burns enjoyed a fine athletic career
at Lowell State College (1965-69). Although his standout
sport was basketball, Burns also won varsity letters in baseball
and cross country. The former cage star ranks second in LSC
scoring totals with 1,339 points. His four-year average
was 17.4 points per game and he was twice honored as the
Outstanding Basketball Player at LSC. During his senior
year, the LSC hoop captain was presented with the
Student-Athlete Award (highest scholastic average) and the
coveted Senior Athletic Award (outstanding athlete). Burns
was listed in the publication "Outstanding College Athletes of
1969."
