John Baranowski '35 (Football)
John Baranowski (left)(1981) - As an undergraduate at Lowell Textile (1931-35), John Baranowski (left) was an outstanding football player.  His position was tackle and he was described as being fast, aggressive, and the powerful dynamo of the Textile line under Coach Rusty Yarnell.  Nicknamed the "Baron", this fine athlete was a four year starter and captain of the squad.  Baranowski played both football and basketball at Chelsea High School.  His Chelsea High School basketball team won the 1930 MIT State Championship and placed second in the consolations in the National High School Tournament in Chicago, IL.

After graduation from Lowell Textile, Baranowski continued to play football in the Lowell area starring for both the Butler and Laurier football teams.  He also led the Lowell YMCA in basketball to New England championships (1935-38).
