It is with great excitement that I announce the UMass Lowell Hockey slogan for the 2007-2008 hockey season: See You at the Tsongas!  This short and simple phrase will serve as our designated rallying call to encourage every member of the University and community to support River Hawk hockey in a way that’s deserving of a Hockey East program.

The idea of having a slogan is part of Chancellor Meehan’s larger strategy to identify and develop key initiatives that will enhance morale and spirit, and increase the level of engagement across campus.  It only seems natural that the Tsongas Arena serves as a centerpiece for this new sense of spirit.

We have been working closely with the Chancellor’s Office and other components of campus to develop this slogan, and we are counting on the power of sports to help produce a stronger sense of community.  Varsity sports create strong bonds between the students and the University, turning these students into loyal fans first and loyal alumni later.

Like all slogans we hope  See You at the Tsongas! will be an effective unifying force.  For the slogan to serve this purpose, it must be seen everywhere.  A  See You at the Tsongas! banner can be found on our web site, and you will begin to see the slogan on all of our marketing materials throughout the year.

We must all take full advantage of this new lease on life granted by the UMass Board of Trustees.  The first place to start is by Seeing You ALL at the Tsongas!
