Organizations asking for clothes donations during this holiday season
LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell, in conjunction with the Lowell Devils and SMG, announced the raising of a “Giving Tree” in the lobby of Tsongas Arena for the holiday season.
The three organizations are asking all who come through the arena’s doors to help us “decorate” the tree with new or used winter clothing: hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, coats, etc. All donations collected will go to benefit the Lowell Transitional Living Center. The “Giving Tree” will be up and donations will be accepted through Sunday, December 16.
The Lowell Transitional Living Center (LTLC), is a community supported, non-profit organization that provides a safe, temporary shelter for 90 homeless men and women, ages 18 and older, in the Greater Lowell area. They operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The Lowell Devils are a member of the American Hockey League - the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. The Lowell Devils are owned and operated by the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League.
UMass Lowell is in its 25th year as a Division I ice hockey program and is a charter member of Hockey East – arguably the deepest college hockey conference in the country.
Lowell's Tsongas Arena - "Celebrating its 10th Anniversary" - is privately managed by the Philadelphia based company SMG. SMG is the world leader in venue management, marketing and development.
